1. FORM A COMMITTEE - Done
A Committee of 10 Core Members and 18 Sub-Committee Members is in place.
2. ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW - Done
We have completed an Environmental Review, checking for leaky taps, surveyed classes on their water-wise knowledge, tallied toilet flushes, checked water bills and usage per month.
3. ACTION PLAN - Ongoing
New Actions are agreed at each Committee Meeting and implemented on an on-going basis.
4. MONITORING - Ongoing
Monitoring and Evaluation happens on an ongoing basis. For example: our Sub-Committee (Junior Infants to 4th Class) check for leaky taps in their classrooms, check lights and plugs are turned off at break times and home time.
5. CURRICULUM WORK - Ongoing
This is ongoing work, with Teachers giving regular lessons on Water Conservation.
6. INFORMING - Ongoing
Informing & Involving is ongoing work. Examples are Assembly announcements, Monthly School Newsletter, this Website, Poster Competition, to name a few.
7. Green Code - In Progress
The Green-Code is a statement of the objectives demonstrating the school’s commitment to environmentally friendly actions. Once finalised, our Green Code will be posted within the School and on this website.
